The next outing I was with my husband, I sat in the back again at 235 lb and my husband said in the front at 325 lb and this was totally frightening we were both afraid to move it was so Tippy. Encountered some class 2 rapids and a 3 foot drop; it handled well with no spray skirt. I must be missing something on others who review a canoe and rate it poorly because it's "tippy". Part of reason boat is stable is that you sit in center of molded seats so two paddlers cant shift weight suddenly side to side and rock boat. Good job Mad River keep making great canoes and kayaks. Seatbacks are comfortable, with good leg room from both seats, but I wouldn't use the middle seat for a 3rd passenger. We have used for exploring creeks and it just seems to be able to get into very tight spaces. I've taken it on a few trips but unless it's just you and one other person going on a one day trip you will need to to bring at least one more canoe to hold much of the gear.
